Library Week, which will be celebrated for the 62nd time this year, has been observed annually in our country during the last week of March since 1964, with various events aimed at highlighting the role of libraries in society and the importance of access to information.
As part of Library Week, which will take place from March 30 to April 5, 2026, the Department of Library and Documentation at Bilgi University will host, in collaboration with the Ibn Haldun University Library, the MEF University Library, and the Kadir Has University Library, a panel titled "Artificial Intelligence Units and Innovative Services in University Libraries" will be organized.
In the first session of the panel, our Library Director, Sönmez Çelik, will speak as a presenter with a presentation titled "Artificial Intelligence Integration and Service Innovation in University Libraries: The Ibn Haldun University Example"; during this presentation, the work we have carried out and the services we offer at the İHÜ Library will be shared with participants in line with our innovative service approach.
In the second session, the topic will be addressed from the user’s perspective by featuring the experiences and opinions of students who have benefited from the artificial intelligence tools and applications developed in these libraries. In this context, Zeynep Mekselina Güneş, a student from the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Ibn Haldun University, will participate as a speaker.
