Ibn Haldun University Library 2025 Summer Term Internship Announcement

Ibn Haldun University Library Department offers compulsory summer internship opportunities for Information and Document Management students.

Internship Program Details

Application Period: March - April - May 2025
Quota: 3 noble + 1 substitute
Internship Duration: July - August 2025
Internship Location: Ibn Haldun University Library Department
Application Method: Applications should be made through the Internship Gateway platform run by the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey Human Resources Office or to library@ihu.edu.tr together with a CV (Curriculum Vitae).

Internship Process and Content

Application Evaluation: Applicants will be evaluated, and the results will be notified positively or negatively via e-mail.
For Accepted Candidates: Students accepted for the internship will receive food and transportation support.
Internship Program: A weekly schedule will be prepared and sent to the students during the internship.

Interns will work in different library departments and participate in meetings, trainings, and academic events. They will also gain hands-on experience by supporting basic library processes such as user services, technical services, cataloging, acquisitions, digital archiving, institutional academic archive, subscriber databases, and electronic resource management.

Qualifications and Competencies Expected from Interns

  • Openness to Learning and Development Orientation
  • Willingness to learn library processes,
  • An interest in academic librarianship and information management,
  • Desire to make an effort to contribute to producing solutions.

Responsibility and Work Discipline

  • To fulfill the assigned tasks on time and ultimately,
  • To adapt to the functioning of the library and adhere to the rules of professional ethics.

Communication and Teamwork

  • Communicate effectively with users and team members,
  • Working in cooperation by coordinating with different units.

Digital Literacy and Technology Use

  • To be able to use library automation systems and subscribed databases,
  • Willingness to master digital library services and open-access resources.

Contributions of the Internship

This internship program will provide students with experience in academic librarianship, help them develop their professional skills, and shape their career paths.

At the end of the internship, students:

  • Information services management,
  • Use of electronic resources,
  • Supporting academic research,
  • Students will gain essential competencies such as library management and organization.
