General Information

Ibn Haldun University Library started in 2015 with the establishment of Ibn Haldun University. The aim of the library, which provides services in a contemporarily arranged area, is to support research and education programs, to meet the information and documentation needs of the faculty members, students and staff, and to support the accumulation, use, and transfer of knowledge at national and international level.

The library offers an ideal study environment with options such as individual study rooms, group study rooms, seminar rooms, an e-library, a book café, and comfortable seating areas to meet users' research needs and support the community's research and professional needs. The library holds a collection of more than 550 million reliable print and electronic information resources in both print and electronic formats.

The library's inspiring study spaces and innovative services help users achieve their academic goals. It has a distinguished and rich collection of works in Turkish, English, and Arabic, including various types of books, primary sources, and reference materials.

The library provides users with resources unavailable in its collections by acquiring them through purchase, subscription, donation, or borrowing from other libraries, offering them to users as quickly and as easily as possible. Through agreements with all university and research libraries in Turkey, the library not only benefits from their collections but also makes its collections accessible to researchers in need.

The library offers various services, including reference, access to information, borrowing, internet usage, audiovisual information resource usage, access to electronic databases, and user training, all provided by professional librarians. The library offers its resources accordingly to ensure researchers can access information resources 24/7. All our electronic resources and services can be accessed with an Ibn Haldun University email username and password.

The library provides all types of print, electronic, and audiovisual information resources according to users' needs. Print resources are available through an open-shelf system. Electronic resources can be accessed via computers within the library, through users' computers, or remotely (off-campus) via the remote access service.

The Library Catalog is designed to connect researchers with the print and electronic resources available at the university. It contains information on all library resources, such as books, journals, and rare works, and includes full texts when available.

The Discovery Tool is a system that allows users to search across subscribed electronic resources, including the library catalog, from a single interface. The library's discovery tool is a publicly accessible interface that enables users to access the entire library content online. All researchers can access the library's catalog and subscribed databases independently of time and place via the Discovery Tool.

Librarians combine library services with artificial intelligence capabilities to create a rich information environment, facilitate access to information, and ensure that students, academic staff, and researchers can make the most of the library's interactive services. Additionally, librarians possess significant expertise in finding the resources that researchers need.

Library services and facilities are designed with the needs of all users in mind, and the library's physical structure and services are planned to accommodate users with disabilities. Access to the library, the entrance, shelf spacing, desks, and all other library units are suitable for physically disabled users. In addition, the library website and electronic resources are arranged with infrastructure that allows visually impaired users to benefit from them.

In addition to standard library services, the library supports research through regular training on Research Methods and Techniques, Academic Profile Creation, and Reference Management Systems. The library also stores all academic resources such as books, articles, theses, conference papers, reports, and research data published directly or indirectly by the university in digital format in the Ibn Haldun University Institutional Academic Archive, ensuring that these resources are preserved long-term and made available for Open Access in compliance with copyright laws to increase the impact of publications.
