The "Academic Incentive Program" seminar for students, organized in collaboration between the Library Directorate and the Career and Development Club at Ibn Haldun University, was held in a hybrid format on Wednesday, April 1, 2025, in the Library Seminar Hall and via Zoom.
Led by Librarian Melike Daş, the seminar addressed key topics to raise students’ awareness of academic incentive processes, provide comprehensive information on application criteria, and explain how to make the most effective use of these opportunities.
As part of the program, the academic incentive system, which strengthens academic careers while also offering opportunities for additional income, was evaluated in its entirety. The seminar, specifically designed for participants who publish or aim to publish in national and international journals, comprehensively covered publication incentives, application processes, coefficient calculations, special conditions, and key details to note.
Additionally, Emine Göğüş, a doctoral student in Private Law who benefited from the academic incentive program and served as a guest speaker, shared her experiences and insights with the participants. By conveying the knowledge and expertise she gained during the application process and by presenting examples from her own academic work, Göğüş concretely demonstrated the contributions of the academic incentive system. Göğüş emphasized that this system is not merely a means of providing financial support; it is also an important mechanism that enhances academic motivation, encourages productivity, and supports high-quality publication efforts.
Throughout the seminar, participants gained insights into academic incentive programs and acquired valuable knowledge to conduct their academic research more consciously and deliberately.
