Ibn Haldun University Library Provided Academic Research Support for the BSG Student Symposium

The fifth edition of "The Voice of Youth in Başakşehir (BSG) Student Symposium," organized by the Başakşehir District Directorate of National Education to contribute to the academic and social development of high school students, was held from June 8 to 15, 2026.
Held under the theme "The National Technology Initiative and Digitalization in Turkey’s Century," the symposium was attended by 15 teachers and 49 students from 13 different high schools. The students presented papers they had prepared on current topics such as defense technologies, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, the effects of social media on young people, and green production.
The Ibn Haldun University Library provided academic research support to students and their advising teachers during the symposium’s preparation process. As part of this effort, participants received orientation training on using library resources, accessing reliable information, conducting searches in academic databases, and effectively utilizing sources throughout the research process.
During the symposium preparations, students had the opportunity to use the library’s study areas and on-site information resources. Additionally, similarity reports were prepared for the papers presented at the symposium, contributing to the students’ academic writing and adherence to scientific ethics.
The program’s closing event was held on June 15, 2026, at the Başakşehir Municipality City Arts Hall. Plaques were presented to Sönmez ÇELİK, Director of the Ibn Haldun University Library; Esra KALYONCU, Library Manager; and Merve DİRKEN, Senior Specialist, in recognition of their contributions to the organization, which supports young people’s academic production processes.
The Ibn Haldun University Library continues to help students develop their research skills, support their effective and ethical use of information resources, and contribute to their academic work.
