As part of the 62nd Library Week events, the İHÜ Library hosted another unique event that brought together art and literature under the theme "The Healing Library, The Enriching Library."

Organized under this theme, the "From Page to Art: Book-to-Brooch Design Workshop" offered participants the opportunity to create artistic works inspired by books. The event was led by Nil Mucuk from the Demir Academy Restoration and Conservation Center.

During the workshop, participants created their own original brooch designs inspired by books. By bringing together the aesthetic and intellectual worlds of books with design, the event offered participants both a creative production experience and the opportunity to evaluate the relationship between art and literature from a different perspective.

Under Nil Mucuk’s guidance, participants had the opportunity to develop their manual skills and artistic expression through the various stages of the design process. The original works created during the event demonstrated that books are not merely sources of information but also inspiring artistic elements.

Held with two table setups and 26 participants, the workshop stood out for its interactive structure. While experiencing their individual creative processes, participants drew inspiration from one another’s work, collaborating within a shared artistic atmosphere.

The İHÜ Library continues to provide users not only with access to information but also with a learning environment that fosters creativity and supports cultural and artistic interaction through such events.

At the end of the program, a certificate was presented for the tree sapling donation made to the TEMA Foundation’s Kayseri Acırlı-3 Memorial Forest in honor of instructor Nil Mucuk for her contributions to the workshop. This meaningful presentation added an environmental awareness dimension to the event’s focus on bringing art and literature together.
