Research Processes Transformed by Artificial Intelligence: Effective Presentations from Our Library

Our library, in collaboration with Department Head Sönmez Çelik and Dr. Sami Çuhadar, Director of Library and e-Resources at Istanbul Bilgi University, will present a talk titled "Scientific Research and Artificial Intelligence: A Paradigm Shift in Research Processes," held on October 16, 2025, at the 4th International Symposium on Information and Document Management from Tradition to the Future.
The presentation, held at the symposium hosted by Kastamonu University from October 16 to 18, 2025, addressed the impact of artificial intelligence on scientific research processes and the new roles that university libraries can assume in this transformation.
The presentation detailed the opportunities offered by artificial intelligence tools in all stages of research, from topic identification to literature review, academic writing, and data analysis. Furthermore, attention was drawn to critical issues such as compliance with ethical principles, transparency, data privacy, and algorithmic bias, emphasizing that researchers must critically evaluate and use these technologies responsibly.
Mr. Sönmez Çelik and Dr. Sami Çuhadar underscored that, in addition to the opportunities offered by artificial intelligence in academic research processes, the ethical and methodological responsibilities it brings should not be overlooked. They stated that university libraries will play important roles in this transformation process and will continue to guide researchers and provide support in accessing information, managing research data, and addressing issues of academic integrity and ethics.
Our library will continue to contribute to the academic community and offer innovative solutions in scientific research by closely following technological developments.
