Journal of Ibn Haldun Studies; It is an international peer-reviewed scientific journal that publishes original articles in the field of Social Sciences. The journal is published every six months in English and Turkish. The fields of study accepted by the journal include sociology, human and social sciences, literature, economics, business administration, history, linguistics, and arts.
DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals); is an independent index containing approximately 17 thousand peer-reviewed open-access journals covering all fields of science, technology, medicine, social sciences, arts, and humanities. DOAJ is supported internationally by libraries, publishers, and research institutions.
There are around 200 hundred thousand journals published in scientific disciplines around the world, and 17 thousand of them are included in the DOAJ Index.
The index is a research resource that accepts publications in a multi-disciplinary or specific subject area with selection criteria and compiles at least bibliographic information. These resources make it easier for researchers to access publications above certain criteria. It plays an important role in determining the qualifications and levels of publications. Indexes are the most important criteria in determining whether a journal is national, field-indexed, and citation indexed.
Reaching the sought information is possible by classifying the information, and databases fulfill this task. The indexes are classified as multi-disciplinary, field, and citation indexes. Indexes, which are indispensable elements of the research ecosystem, are guide resources in terms of providing quality and regular information to researchers.
Today, indexes that collect qualified information have come to the fore in the evaluation of researchers, academicians, and journals. Indexes are a kind of key to the professional and academic future.
DOAJ, which is the guide of open access journals, has an important place in the scientific ecosystem with the journal selection criteria it applies. The metadata provided in international standards is automatically reflected in the content of "discovery tools" used by libraries. Thus, the publications of DOAJ are made available to library users through discovery tools as well as Internet search engines.
